The special editions for the R35 GT-R’s 15th model year are arriving, and they’re still playing tunes. The Skyline Edition is the latest addition to the collection. The 2024 GT-R comes in Bayside Blue, which was previously only available on the R34 Skyline GT-R and the 2020 50th Anniversary R35 GT-R. In addition to the blue paint, it features a matching Sora Blue leather inside.

However, the Skyline Edition is only a standard GT-R (“just”). If you want more, consider the T-Spec Takumi Edition. It is quite similar to the T-Spec that was announced for the 2024 model year, with bigger front fenders, carbon ceramic brakes, Nismo Rays forged rims, and Nismo-tuned traction and stability control. It also gets the T-Spec’s Midnight Purple paint, which has long been a GT-R exclusive color, as well as a dark, faint Mori Green leather interior. However, the Takumi Edition has an engine developed with “elevated level of attention to precise engine tolerances and component balancing during assembly.” The engine maker insignia is accentuated with red letters, and the VIN plate is gold in color.

These unique editions join a parade of tributes to previous Skyline GT-Rs for the 2024 model. The T-Spec had also been available in Millennium Jade, another popular R34 color. The 2024 makeover even features a more classic grille shape reminiscent of the R34. It does feel like a final celebration before the R35’s inevitable termination. Rumors predict that there may be one more year as a 2025 model, which will most likely continue the special editions.

Nissan said the two GT-Rs will be available at dealers this summer in “very limited numbers.” Pricing and other details will be revealed as the release date approaches, and production numbers for the special editions are likely to be included.
