Mahindra has officially registered a new trademark in India, Scorpio X. This signals the introduction of a new model to the Indian market based on the Scorpio-N platform. In fact, this latest trademark registration suggests that the Scorpio X designation may appear on the Global Pik Up concept, which was introduced at the Futurescape event in Cape Town, South Africa.

Mahindra Scorpio X: What to Expect?

The Global Pik Up concept comes out as the most likely candidate to carry the Scorpio X moniker. This production-spec pickup, set to arrive early next year, targets overseas markets and accords with Mahindra’s “go global” goal. The Global Pik Up, like other forthcoming vehicles, will play an important role.

Mahindra Scorpio X: Highlights

The Scorpio X emphasizes design, modern technology, connectivity, and off-road capabilities while maintaining the utility of a truck. It was created at the Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS) in the United Kingdom and is built on a new-generation ladder frame platform known internally as Z121.

The pickup has a rough and strong presence, with modern embellishments. A mesh-patterned grille, L-shaped daytime running lights, robust front and rear bumpers with tow hooks, a snorkel, a roof-mounted carrier with an LED light bar, substantial body cladding, a spacious load bay, side steps for easy access, and large tires mounted on alloy wheels are among the design highlights.

Mahindra has fitted the Scorpio X with level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), trailer sway mitigation, several airbags, sleepy driver monitoring, a sunroof, 5G connectivity, driving modes, a premium sound system, and a semi-automatic parking function.

Mahindra Scorpio X: Engine Specifications

The forthcoming Scorpio-X based Global Pik Up is expected to use the 2.2-litre inline four-cylinder turbocharged mHawk diesel engine, mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. It also gets the 4Xplore four-wheel drive technology.
